Frank Crinella is a professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine. He moved from
Sonoma County to Orange County in 1977, when Governor Brown assigned him to direct Fairview State Hospital, a 1,600 bed facility for people with developmental
disabilities. At the same time, he was appointed to the faculty at the UC Irvine College of Medicine, where he has been involved in clinical and research activities
focusing on children with neurodevelopmental disorders. He has authored more than 60 books, chapters and original research articles, including 'Brain mechanisms in problem
solving and intelligence' 1990; 'Thompson, Lashley and Spearman: The bilogical basis of intelligence' (1994), and Brain mechanisms in problem solving and intelligence: g and executive
function' (2000). Recently, he co-authored, with Corrine Gediman, a memory self-help book entitled 'Brainfit' (2005).
Today, Frank travels to Northern California one week each month to work with his sister, Ramona, on the Crinella Vineyards and winery project, as well as visit the Sacramento
Valley, where he manages his family's rice farms.
